IACCM’s Free Online Course is back – starting November 9, 2015:
Contract Management: Building Relationships in Business
Last April, IACCM was invited by the UK Cabinet Office and Civil Service Learning to partner with the Uni. of Southampton and deliver a free learning course on the Open University’s FutureLearn platform:
‘Contract Management: Building Relationships in Business'
An overwhelming 16,000 people from around the globe benefited from this online course last April making it a great success. We are glad to repeat this interactive learning event starting November 9, 2015.
The program is based on IACCM’s Ten Pitfalls in Contract Management and the content is relevant to both experienced and inexperienced participants. Content for this online course is posted each Monday over the course of 3 weeks. Log in when you are ready to study and also to have conversations with fellow learners on the discussion forum.
Contracts are fundamental to all business activities and relationships are fundamental to all contracts.
This open online course will help you understand contract management processes; give you the confidence to develop new contracts; and help you build successful relationships to implement contracts effectively.
Over the course of three weeks, you will realize the importance, complexity and challenges of designing and delivering good contracts. You will learn how your objectives and those of your customer/client can be achieved in an effective way, to minimize possible threats or failures.
As a non-profit association, IACCM was delighted to be invited to create this course and we're pleased to have it run again so more professionals can benefit and raise their understanding of how to manage better business relationships through contract and commercial management.
The course covers three key themes
Relationship fundamentals: you will explore what can go right or wrong in relationships; examine the rules that govern public and private sector procurement; and ask how you can make sure what you buy (or sell) is what you and your customer/client really needs.
Relationship complexities: you will look at the complex supply chains and networks that are a feature of many contracts, learning how to manage interdependencies and the needs of multiple stakeholders.
What does this mean to you? The final part of the course will bring the above ideas together, using an example scenario (the challenge of building your own house) to put theory into practice.
Learn with expert academics and experienced practitioners
Your guides for the course are Douglas Macbeth, Professor of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management at the University of Southampton; and Tim Cummins, CEO of IACCM who has wide and senior management experience in the field.
Each week, you’ll get the chance to hear guest lectures from, and discuss your own ideas with, practitioners from public and private sector organizations around the world.
Don’t miss your opportunity to join this interactive and dynamic course starting again on November 9th, 2015 – and please encourage others in your company/network to do so as well.
